Alone I Have the World: It Lives Within Me and You: A Poem

Here’s to all the new adventures to those far, wide and wondrous places of the heart, mind and universe!

If I had the world

Alone.

I would chase the caribou across icy shields.

If I had the world

Alone.

I would travel with the trumpet swan, eating fireflies.

If I had the world

Alone.

I would sit inside the cedars and talk to the ants.

If I had the world

Alone.

I would sing to the sediments and wake old bones.

If I had the world

Alone.

I would float in kelp forests, asleep under summer sun.

If I had the world

Alone.

I would climb craggy mountains and whisper to the clouds.

If I had the world

Alone.

I would sink into an adirondak at the edge of a lake.

I would crinkle the pages of a book.

I would walk into a faerie ring.

I would fall into a Sidhe ball.

I would never be alone again.
